The White Hart is one of the smaller pubs on the Grassmarket. It’s going for the olde pubbe vibe with trinkets on the walls and ceiling, wooden beams (possibly original), old photos, pictures and paintings and a touch of tartan for good measure. It was busy on this Saturday afternoon, standing room only for us. There was a good mixture of people, but they were probably mostly tourists.
As a Belhaven pub it’s a sister bar to Drouthy Neebors and the Albanach.
This was pub 4 of 19 on our random February blowout. We started out with the aim of ticking off 8 pubs in the Grassmarket, but got very carried away and did a lot of the Cowgate too. The quality of these posts will deteriorate towards the end as notes become thinner and memory hazier. I’m not particularly proud of the achievement, it was pretty stupid.
